Careers: Central Distribution Centers

hhgregg is one of the nation's leading retailers of home appliances and consumer electronics, and all of our stores depend on the distribution centers to keep them stocked. With the promise of 100 Flat Panel TVs on display and over 500 appliances in stock, it is paramount that the distribution center keep each store equipped to match each customer up with the product they need.

Receiving, shipping, delivery and vendor returns are all handled through our distribution centers so it has to be organized, operate efficiently, and associates have to treat each product as if it was going to their home. So we're just as proud of the selection of products from the top brand names that our customers see in the store, as we are the associates behind the scenes that ensure that they are safely and efficiently handled at all times.

Management

CDC Manager:
The CDC Manager is responsible for the success of assigned functions within a complex distribution center environment to ensure that it is an outstanding place to work. The CDC Manager may be responsible for the supervision of one or more of the following: Inbound Operations (Unloading and Receiving), Warehouse Operations (Pick-Pack, Break-Pack), Outbound Operations (Loading), Transportation Operations (Yard, Carrier Relations) and/or Office Operations (e.g., Transportation Coordinators, Customer Service Associates, General Office Associates). The CDC Manager works with the Vice President – Logistics to implement strategies and objectives to maximize productivity and leverage expenses for the distribution center. The CDC Manager must analyze trends, solve problems and motivate and develop themselves and associates in order to maximize contribution to the DC success - typically manages through several Supervisors to achieve results from a large number of hourly associates.

CDC Supervisor in Training:
The CDC Supervisor in Training role is an entry level management position. The basic function is to learn all aspects of how the DC operates in preparation for a manager role. Rotations for this training program include Receiving, Shipping, Delivery and Return to Vendor.


Office Administration

Delivery Office Administrator:
The primary responsibility of the Delivery Office associate is to provide excellent customer service to our customers and store associates through effective communication regarding delivery of product.

Delivery Office Supervisor:
The primary responsibility of the Delivery Office associate is to provide excellent customer service to our customers and store associates through effective communication regarding delivery of product.

Delivery Office Manager:
The primary responsibility of the Delivery Office associate is to provide excellent customer service to our customers and store associates through effective communication regarding delivery of product.


Return To Vendor

RTV Administrator:
The primary responsibility of the RTV area is to oversee and direct the product movement to vendors for damaged product.

RTV Shipper:
The primary responsibility of the RTV area is to oversee and direct the product movement to vendors for damaged product.

RTV Lead:
The primary responsibility of the RTV area is to oversee and direct the product movement to vendors for damaged product.


All Other CDC Careers

Delivery Prep:
The primary responsibility of the Delivery Office associate is to provide excellent customer service to our customers and store associates through effective communication regarding delivery of product.

Receiving:
The primary responsibility of the Receiving department is to load and unload material within the Central Distribution Center. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, or other handling equipment to move material to and from within the storage facility. hhgregg offers many different positions within the receiving department; all starting at the training level.

Shipping:
The primary responsibility of the Shipping department is to ship product within the Central Distribution Center. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, or other handling equipment to move material to and from within the storage facility. hhgregg offers many different positions within the shipping department; all starting at the training level.

Transfer Driver:
The primary responsibility of the transfer driver associate is to transport product from the Central Distribution Center (CDC) to the various locations.

Warehouse:
The basic function of the warehouse associate is to receive product and to pull sold product and prepare product for the next day’s delivery.
